It wasn't bad, but like you, I wanted more height in the front, especially since my rear was sitting pretty decently at like 4" lift. After installing the tires we had ZERO rubbings on the fender liners and fender well in general on-road. The shocks do a much better job of absorbing bumps and many will say the ride is smoother. The 6112 shocks also have 5 height settings compared to the 5100's 3 settings.
